HELENE WERLE
The success of an album doesn't just depend on the quality of the music on the CD. That is why singer, songwriter and talented lyricist, Hélène Werlé analyzed and interpreted Luiz de Aquino's lyrics, and prepared the lovely presentation found on the album booklet of Esquina Do Tempo. We are indebited to her for her passion, time and originality.The many compliments we have received world-wide for her texts - prepared in English as well as in French are gratifying for the entire production team and of course support the promotion of the album.Thank you so much.
HELLEM MOTA
An extraordinary and charmismatic friend, anthropologist and specialist of Brazilian music and dance, Hellem analyzed and translated Luiz de Aquino's lyrics from Portuguese to French and provided historical insight into the various styles and traditions that color Luiz de Aquino's musical world. She is also co-author of "Danses Latines, le désir des Continents" (Editions Autrement) Muito obrigada, Hellem!
ILANA GOLDSTEIN
Journalist and writer, Ilana Goldstein is the author of the recently released "O Brasil best-seller de Jorge Amado" (SENAC). Ilana has followed the evolution of Luiz de Aquino's work over the past few years, and wrote the first critic of Esquina do Tempo which can be found on this site in Portuguese. We are indebted to her for this work which is helping to promote Luiz's album in Brazil and other Portuguese speaking countries.
JAIMIE QUINN - EDSON VALENCA
We are grateful to both for having taken the time to prepare the Portugese and Spanish versions of ESQUINA DO TEMPO found on this site. Both are professionnal translators living in Washington State and in Brazil. They collaborated together to assure the quality and exactness of the translations. Thank you so much.
LIONEL BOISSAYE
One gloomy day in December of 2001, convinced that the record contract we were going to sign was just around the corner, (and which would eventually be signed in October of 2003), we head off to Lionel's studio and shot a series of 250 photos. Lionel's patience and great eye, brought out the best in Luiz and provided us with images, essential for promotion. We are truly grateful for Lionel's suppleness and generosity.
